Notice of Non-Payments to Printers and Publishers

Lahore (August 30, 2023) President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashif Anwar has demanded Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, Chief Secretary, Secretary Education and Secretary Schools to give five and a half to printers and publishers from the job of Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board. Take notice of the non-payment of billions of rupees because of this the sector is facing a severe financial crisis.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of printers and publishers headed by Khalid Parvez. Senior Vice President of Lahore Chamber Zafar Mehmood, Information Secretary All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran Zakaria Butt and Chairman All Pakistan Printers Association Syed Makram Abbas, former President Muhammad Ali Mian and former Vice President Fahimur Rahman Sehgal were also present on the occasion.


The delegation said that the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board had issued a tender worth Rs. However, the payment of five and a half billion rupees for this printing is still outstanding. He said that the price of paper has increased several times and if the Punjab Syllabus and Textbook Board does not pay the remaining five and a half billion rupees to the printers and publishers, the textbooks will not be printed for the next academic year and millions of students will be deprived of them. will be deprived of which will put their academic career on the back burner.

He said that the government should immediately take notice of this situation and issue an order to pay the arrears of printers and publishers because tenders are issued only when there is money. Publishers and printers should be paid in accordance with the conditions of the tender; otherwise, they will be compelled to protest forcefully.  President of Lahore Chamber Kashif Anwar expressed his concern over this situation and stressed to Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, Chief Secretary, Secretary Education and Secretary Schools that in view of the current business and economic conditions, they should pay five and a half billion rupees to printers and publishers. Play an urgent role in getting the payments made as this sector has been hit by a severe financial crisis.
